"Falling Upwards" makes its debut at Fade to Light
Fade to Light. February 25, 2015. The beginning of the Fashion Season here in Portland.
Inspired by the myth and magic of hot air ballooning, “Falling Upwards” is a women’s wear collection that evokes the new beginnings of spring with airy silhouettes, dramatic outerwear, sexy swimwear, and romantic layering elements in a fiery color palette. The whole collection floats upwards in silk chiffon, nylon ripstop, dramatic pleated silk, and naughty wool knits.
“A rust and cream balloon floats off, lost, finding one current of air after another, unsettled. Lost. It isn’t the ground it is in search of, but the sky, the feeling of being lost, weightless. NOT being grounded is exhilarating. Each new gust of wind finds a new direction. The only question remains: Where to today?” – Michelle Lesniak 2015
This multidimensional fashion event will feature clothing by Michelle Lesniak, live music by local artist Mr. Moo, and a short film by Gunnar Deatherage and Glass Label. This is one event you don't want to miss! The show will be held at McMenamins Crystal Ballroom. Click here for tickets.
